BCA next steps

Berlin Collective Action e.V will be taking its next steps and we would like to extend our deepest gratitude to everyones generosity thus far, and to inform you what those next steps will be.

With our public fundraiser through the collective effort of sharing our betterplace campaign we raised €51.000 and distributed the money to 186 individuals out of 300 applications based on risk tiers assigned by a rotating committee.

To broaden the impact of our fundraiser and reach to people we can't reach through our outreach to individuals, we donated a part of our budget to an organisation chosen by the committee every week. The organisations we have supported so far are as follow: OLGA Notdienst e.V., Gladt e.V., Women In Exile, Trans*Sexworks, Schlafplatz Orga and Crowbar Collective.

We have recently achieved registered status as an "eingetragener Verein mit Gemeinnützigkeit"(not-for-profit community organisation). Achieving e.V. status means we are now able to continue wealth redistribution on a larger scale, and are able to accept donations from companies and groups, having this status also means that we can leave more space for other initiatives in public crowdfunding. We will not be accepting sponsorships or doing any advertising for any companies — we will only be accepting donations and also exchanging resources for sensitivity trainings.

Moving forward, we will be closing the Betterplace campaign. Individuals and companies will now be able to donate, access resources, and apply for funds through our new website. Application forms will be first available in 7 different languages, and will be moving to a new and more effective platform (Typeform) meaning we will be able to delete applicants' info in the interest of privacy more quickly and securely after distribution is complete.

The opening of applications will be communicated through social media and outreach work, it would be extremely helpful if you can share the next launch through your channels as previously to help get the word out.

If you have any feedback, questions or suggestions on organisations or initiatives that could use our support at the moment, please contact us.

Solidarity, health and well-wishes,

Berlin Collective Action e.V.
